Yep, it’s true! Thanksgiving is officially 21 days away! That’s ok, you’ve come to the right place. I’m going to guide you through with daily tips leading up to the big Turkey Day.
I’m going to make it fun, too. Alcohol, or at least the possibility of some pretty awesome Thanksgiving cocktails like the one below, will always be included.
Step One – Make a Plan
For me the starting point of everything is Make a Plan!
Yep, I mean it, a real written plan. I say written but I really mean documented. As in, recorded in some way that you can go back, reference and make any necessary changes.
That could be a notebook, your phone, whatever you use. The key is make sure you have a consistent place to record and keep everything related to your Thanksgiving planning.
Whatever you choose, since we’re 21 days out, with everything you have already going on, DO NOT try to keep the important details all in your head.
This leads me to my next point.
Step 2 – Make it Fun!
And I truly mean make it fun! If you don’t find a way to make it fun, you definitely won’t look forward to doing it. I encourage you to start with your calendar, get a cute notebook and make yourself one of these lovely Thanksgiving day cocktails. Then set a weekly date with yourself to work on your Thanksgiving Plan.
Things to Consider
As you’re doing you’re planning there are some factors you’ll want to consider. Here are a few that we’ll cover in more detail tomorrow.
- How many people will you be serving?
- What is your menu?
- Are you planning to try any new recipes?
- Will you need any new cookware, table service ware, dinnerware, drinkware, etc.?
- What can you do to make it easier for yourself?
Find ways to take it easy
That last one was so important, I created a whole section to remind you to take it easy. Thanksgiving and the holiday season can be very stressful so we’ll make sure to build in some ways to lighten the load for a more stress-free Thanksgiving.
Ok, that’s it for today. See you tomorrow.
