How It Started

Want to hear an uplifting story that came from a monumental loss we experienced? And how it inspired this cup drop? Sit back and I’ll tell you how it started.

It was a regular Sunday for me. In fact, I was busy dropping new cups into a Glamour Girl Collection in honor of my niece, Ariyan. She loves her eyelashes and I had her #cupofmood!

From Ordinary Day To Monumental Loss

The TikTok video announcing what happened to our house and my beloved CupofMood

In an instant it went from ordinary day to a day of monumental loss. We didn’t just lose our home, we lost our businesses. For my husband, he lost almost all of the antiques in his collection.

The Aftermath

The aftermath from the fire

In addition to everything else, the aftermath for me was I lost most of my beloved CupofMood Collection.

Including the new Glamour Girl Collection. In fact, the cups you see in the Glamour Girl Collection are new ones because I lost many of the cups originally intended for the Glamour Girl Collection.

The majority of my inventory was stored in my garage so I lost whole seasonal collections like my Christmas collection of cups, mugs, wine glasses and more.

From Loss To Hope

My TikTok video expressing my appreciation for so much support!

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I appreciate our Pebble Creek and New Tampa community but also my entire online community!

The love and support they have shown encouraged me to rebuild CupofMood. The cups in this cup drop are in appreciation and gratitude for every last person who took the time to call, text, post, email and reaching out in general.

Not to mention those who donated to our GoFundMe. Even with insurance it is unbelievable how many basic things you take for granted that you no longer have. Not to mention how much it costs to replace things in today’s economy. Thankfully, I’m a thrifter, so I’ve been able to save some money along the way.

So to all of you, please know this first CupofMood cup drop since the fire, is dedicated to you!

The Uplifting Story of Kindness

Kindness does matter and you never realize just how much it matters until you’re in a huge time of need and vulnerability.

Kindness Quote

I love the quote above because with so much support and kindness, we never felt alone!

Hearts of Pure Gold

Maya Angelou said it best in the quote below.

Maya Angelou quote about a heart of gold

Judging by the actions of our friends, family, neighbors, online communities and people as a whole, you ALL have a heart of gold. And for that, I am forever grateful!

The Uplifting Story of Gratitude

I had already been in the habit of practicing gratitude on a daily basis. However, my gratitude appreciation went into full gear when I had to rely on the kindness of strangers as we helplessly watched our house burn and in the following days.

My biggest appreciation came in the form of realizing God spared our lives. From that perspective, everything else are really details.

Rumi quote about gratitude

So, like in this Rumi quote, I am trying to wear gratitude like a cloak. And I have to say, it allows me to feel empowered to find things to be appreciative of instead of focusing on our loss.

Doris Day quote about gratitude

In fact, when I saw this quote, it spoke to me. Doris Day had it right. Gratitude is riches and that’s what I want to attract more of in my life. How about you?

The Uplifting Story of Hope

All of the things above gave me a sense of hope and it made me feel more hopeful and less hopeless about the situation.

Inspirational MLK Jr quote about hope

And finally, this quote by Martin Luther King, Jr. The house fire was a finite disappointment but our future is full of infinite hope. Even as we walk by faith, I have hope.

Always In My Heart

And finally, you are ALL definitely always in my heart!

The Uplifting Story of CupofMood 2.0

In the spirit of gratitude and counting my blessings, I am thankful the fire didn’t destroy the cups in my office. I’m having those professionally cleaned so I can save as many as possible.

In that vein, I’m leaving those special cups in my inventory. You will notice a lot of out of stock items. Those are cups that have either already been sold or I can’t account for in my current inventory.

I’ve been busy updating and rebuilding my CupofMood inventory. It has been one of the bright spots of joy in the aftermath of such a monumental loss.

So I ask that you bear with me as I restore and rebuild. I invite you to check out my current inventory and check back often. I add new cups almost every day.

Also stay tuned for more blogs again. I’m a writer at heart and truly enjoy creating blogs I hope you will find helpful.

In fact, make sure to check out my reclaimingmyspirt blog, too. I share a lot more personal details about the tragedy and my feelings on that blog. And if you’re an Oldhead, you’ll probably like some of my GenX and Oldhead content.

And you can check me out on my social media platforms too. You can find all of them in my LinkTree.

So until next time,

Namaste,
