Christmas in St. Croix
In our continuation of Christmas in the Caribbean, we spent almost 2 weeks in St. Croix at Christmas time. It was an absolute pleasure!
Where in the World?!
When we left, I encouraged my TikTok followers to guess where we were. Here’s the first TikTok video I did encouraging people to guess where I was and presenting them with the first clue. This gives you a small glimpse into the beauty we experienced while we were there.
The second clue
The second clue showed even more beautiful footage. Here’s that video.
The view at sunset
We stayed at the Carambola Beach Resort, a Marriott property. I’ll do a separate post about the resort itself. This view in the evening as we were dining couldn’t be beat. Mountains, the beach, palm trees, the sunset, I NEVER got tired of that view!
Christmas Day
We rented a car for 4 days while we were there. I would HIGHLY suggest renting a car if you’re staying at the resort. It is pretty far away from everything and with Covid, the staffing at the resort isn’t full so there’s a very limited menu from which to choose. Again, more on that later.
Thankfully, we did rent a car and had a chance to explore most of St. Croix. On Christmas Day, we started down in Frederiksted, one of the two main cities in St. Croix. We were especially drawn there to see the birthplace of the slave rebellion and the statues of General Buddhoe. Don’t know that story? Check it out.
Exploring Frederiksted
You can see more of the town square in this video.
Fort Frederick Pier Beach
This picture was taken at the Fort Frederick Pier Beach. The beach is so crystal clear, people snorkel there to see all kind of sea life, especially turtles.
Video recap
To keep this from being too long, here’s a video recap of our Christmas Day. As you can see in the video, we explored three different beaches that day. That was a perfect Christmas to me!
