Where did it all begin?
It’s a fair question. I have absolutely no idea. I grew up in the cold northeast, in Cleveland, Ohio. Outside of the occasional pink plastic flamingos on a lawn, I never gave them a passing thought.
When in Florida, do as the Floridians do
Becoming a Floridian probably has something to do with it. You’re exposed to so many flamingo themed things everywhere, it made it super easy to become a fan. Here are some flamingos I’ve seen around the flea markets and antique stores around Florida.

The Final Flamingle
For my daughter’s wedding in 2018 , I threw her a “Final Flamingle” themed Bachelorette Weekend. Here are some pictures from that weekend. I’ll have to do a whole blog post about all of the ways flamingos were incorporated into the weekend.
A real Flamingle
When we went to Aruba, I had a chance to get up close and personal with flamingos. I’ve been fortunate enough to experience Flamingo Island at the beautiful Renaissance Aruba Resort twice.
