If seeing the best fall foliage is on your Fall Bucket List, this post is for you. While, admittely, it’s a little late, I’ll say better late than never.
I absolutely love how nature unveils its most captivating display of colors. It’s honestly one of the few things I miss about living up North. I miss seeing the best fall foliage as the leaves turned their brilliant colors in the fall.
So, I had a plan to see them this year.
My Original Plan For Seeing The Best Fall Foliage
I initially gathered this information with the hope of convincing my husband to do a fall driving trip. One where we could do a blog and videos about seeing the best fall foilage.
I absolutely love when the leaves turn from vibrant greens to rich reds, fiery oranges, and golden yellows. Creating a breathtaking tapestry that blankets the landscape.
Not to mention, fall is the season of pumpkin spice lattes, cozy sweaters, and, of course, new additions to my Fall Collection at my CupofMood Shop. And what better way to enjoy seeing the best fall foliage than with a warm drink and in warm clothes?
Unfortunately, I ended up getting sick and we couldn’t make the trip. And though I didn’t make the trip, I thought I’d still share the research on seeing the best fall foliage.
So, in this blog post, I’ll reveal the top 3 places and times in the United States to witness the beauty of fall colors at their peak.
Seeing The Best Fall Foilage In New England
When it comes to fall foliage, New England reigns supreme. From late September through October, the northeastern states of Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, and Connecticut transform into a mesmerizing sea of crimson and gold.
As you can see in the picture above, the small town of Sunderland, Massachusetts becomes a colorful and beautiful kaleidoscope of red, orange and yellow leaves come September and October.
If you visit Lyme Connecticut, you get two treats in one! The Gillette State Castle, which looks like a typical medieval castle, is open for tours and sits atop an elevated piece of land. Not to mention, the elevated locations gives a wide view of the changing leaves.
Seeing The Best Fall Foilage In The Great Smoky Mountains
Venture to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee and North Carolina, where the peak foliage season typically occurs in mid-October.
One key to seeing the best fall foilage in the Great Smoky Mountains is of course location. Hike along the Appalachian Trail or simply enjoy the stunning vistas from Clingmans Dome.
Whether or not you capture the moment on video or with pictures there’s another way to capture the moment.
In fact,it’s probably the easiest way to capture the moment, whether you make the trek or not. You can simply get one of the beautiful cups or glasses in my Fall Collection at my CupofMood Shop.
